20th Rovereto International Mozart Festival
Programme for 5th, 6th and 7th October

For its second weekend, the Mozart Festival has planned the following events:
Friday 5th October
At 8 p.m. in the Rosmini Theatre in Rovereto, students from the "A. Rosmini" High School will stage a performance of "Don Giovanni at the Crossroads", a play loosely based on "La bottega del caffè" and "La Locandiera" by Carlo Goldoni (directed by Danilo Faravelli). The show has a dual objective: to allow the young performers to enjoy the same dignity as the internationally famous artists taking part in the Festival and to bring young people into contact with the world of classical music.
Saturday 6th October

At 11 a.m. in the Palazzo de Pizzini at Ala, the Marco Rogliano and Andrea Dindo Duo will perform music by Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt and the contemporary Trentino composer Carlo Galante.

At 5 p.m. the Palazzo Fedrigotti in Rovereto will host "The Conversation", a melologue (i.e. a dialogue with musical accompaniment) featuring Ivana Monti as the narrator and the Trio Aedon on the instruments. Words and music by Fabrizio Festa.

At 9 p.m. a major symphony concert at the Teatro Sociale, where the "Arturo Toscanini” Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Massimo Mazza, will perform music by Mozart and the winning pieces from the Bologna "2nd August” International Composition Competition.

Sunday 7th October
At 11 a.m. in the Trento Philharmonic Hall, the Hector Moreno and Norberto Capelli Piano Duo will perform some adaptations of Mozart’s music by composers such as Grieg, Liszt and Busoni, as well as the world premiere of "Transfigurations on Mozart’s Don Giovanni" specially composed for the Rovereto Festival by Maurizio Agostini.

At 5 p.m. the Festival will end with the screening of "Don Giovanni", directed by Peter Sellars, in the Mart Conference Room. Entry is free.
